Mabank Panthers second baseman Cooper Cline tags out a Brownsboro Bears runner during the April 1 District 15-4A contest in Mabank, which his team won 6-1 to enable a sweep of the Bears before Easter weekend. After the Brownsboro series, Coach Sean McCrossen’s crew stands at 4-2 in District play going into another two-game home-and-away series versus the Athens Hornets April 7 and 10.

The first game, played March 31 in Brownsboro, saw Cooper Cline pitch a complete-game shutout, striking out five Brownsboro Bears before play was halted by run rule in the fifth inning, with Mabank ahead 11-0. Maddex McCrossen and Tucker Davis led Mabank at the plate with two hits apiece.
