Spivey of Kerens named 20-2A Pitcher of the Year

Kerens senior Rylee Spivey (pictured competing against Trinidad April 17) is honored as the District 20-2A Pitcher of the Year.

KERENS–The Kerens Lady Cats softball team placed 11 players on the All-District list for 20-2A for their on-field performance and academic achievement.
Leading the way for Kerens is senior Rylee Spivey, who is the District 20-2A Pitcher of the Year after going 12-4 in the circle with a 1.91 earned-run average for the Lady Cats in 2025. Spivey also batted .504 for the season. Furthermore, Spivey racked up more than 800 strikeouts during her Kerens career.
In addition, named to the 20-2A First Team All-District list for Kerens is senior Brooke Sikes, senior Blair Blue, junior Jayden Brumit and junior Kayla Gonzales. 
Second Team All-District selections for the Lady Cats feature junior Jaidin Rickard, junior Madison Dunham and sophomore Nevaeh Eastman. Named to the Honorable Mention All-District list for Kerens are freshman Peyton Priddy, freshman Addy Hernandez and sophomore Jasmine Cruz.
Also, the Kerens Lady Cat Academic All-District selections are Sikes, Blue, Hernandez, Priddy, Cruz, Spivey and junior Maritza Bustos.
