Abbott announces $30,000 reward for known fugitive

TEXAS–Governor Greg Abbott announced May 15 that the Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Trevor McEuen, who failed to appear for his court date while out on bond for capital murder. The Texas Department of Public Safety has added the suspect to their 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List.

Henderson County awards emergency AC repair bid

HENDERSON COUNTY–Henderson County Commissioners’ Court voted May 13 to award a bid related to what the county auditor called an “emergency situation” at the county’s Judicial Complex at 109 W. Corsicana St. in Athens, where an air conditioning unit has failed.
The action item called for considering proposals for HVAC repair/replacement at the complex. There were three vendor bids concerning this unit, stated County Judge Wade McKinney. “We currently have a major bid out for these, but this unit fell apart on us quicker,” he remarked.

KAUFMAN COUNTY—During the May 6 session of the Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court County Judge Jakie Allen extended his appreciation to the voters of Kaufman County for voting for the bond which grants the construction of a new juvenile detention center.
