Former Payne Springs police chief accepts plea deal

HENDERSON COUNTY—The former Chief of Police for the city of Payne Springs accepted a plea deal May 17, according to court documents. April Meadows accepted the deal after she was accused of money laundering and manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance last year. Per court documents, as part of the plea deal Meadows will have to give up her peace officers license.

Two arrested, charged with continuous sexual abuse

SEVEN POINTS—The Seven Points Police Department arrested Ashton Todd Salsman and Mycala Joan Butler June 6 after executing an arrest warrant obtained and signed by Judge Scott McKee 392nd District Court on continuous sexual abuse of a child, which is a felony of the 1st degree in the State of Texas. 
In a press release, City of Seven Points Police Chief Raymond Wennerstrom stated, “Thanks to the diligent work of Seven Points Assistant Chief J. Perrini and Detective J. Gomez a full investigation revealed positive evidence leading to the arrest of the suspects.” 

Investigation identifies possession of child pornography

KEMP-An investigation by the Henderson County Crimes Against Children Task Force (HCCACTF) with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover investigation May 21 through May 31, into the production and possession of child pornography. The investigation led to the arrest of 60-year-old suspect Tommy Ray Taylor.
During the investigation Taylor allegedly promoted child pornography to an undercover investigator with the HCCACTF.
