PRICE–The Kerens Bobcats finished the 2024 regular season in football with a resounding District win Nov. 8 over Price Carlisle, 49-21.
Kerens was next scheduled to start the playoffs with a Bi-District game in Corsicana against Dawson. Against Carlisle, Kerens led 29-14 at halftime and 35-14 entering the fourth quarter.
Kerens quarterback Muziq Gunnell started the Bobcats’ scoring with a 60-yard touchdown run. Gunnell later added a 62-yard scoring jaunt, a 30-yard touchdown carry, a 15-yard misdirection touchdown pass to Nehemiah Massey and a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jachi Rooks.
Gunnell also threw for 102 yards during the game. In total, Kerens’ offense racked up 514 yards against Price Carlisle, who committed five turnovers.
