County approves pipeline floodplain permits

HENDERSON COUNTY–Commissioners’ Court of Henderson County voted May 17 to approve two floodplain permits for the Integrated Pipeline (IPL) project, which will move water from Lake Palestine to Dallas-Fort Worth.

MABANK–Mabank ISD Superintendent Brad Koskelin introduced the future principal of Central Elementary School Nancy Clark at the April board meeting. Clark, who currently serves as Associate Principal, will take over when current principal Chelsea Capehart retires at the end of this school year.

GUN BARREL CITY–Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a statewide grassroots environmental and community improvement non-profit organization, recently named Gun Barrel City Beautification Committee a Gold Star Affiliate, a designation granted to 86 affiliates of KTB’s nearly 300 affiliates.

Mayor’s race determined by runoff election

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The next elected mayor for Gun Barrel City will be determined by a runoff race between incumbent Mayor David Skains and Linda Rankin in six to eight weeks. Voters cast 169 votes for Skains, 197 votes for Rankin and 149 votes for Zachary Kennedy.
