Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan Beavers spoke to a crowd of officials, law enforcement and supporters. He spoke of his accomplishments as sheriff including working co-operatively with police chiefs and sheriffs of other counties to fight crime and make the county a safe place to live.
CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The 11th Annual Whiskers & Wags fundraiser is slated for Sept. 23, this year themed “Pearls & Paws,” so don your pearls, and don’t forget your dancing shoes.
This year’s event will be held at the CR Legacy Center in Gun Barrel City. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. and as always, the night will be packed with entertainment and fun. All while helping the homeless and abandoned animals in our community.

Two pick-up trucks sustain heavy damages as a result of a three-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon. The white Ford (left) had a trapped driver who was life-flighted to a Tyler hospital. East Main Street was closed down for a least an hour to allow emergency personnel to work.
KAUFMAN COUNTY– Representative Keith Bell is proud to announce the successful creation of the 3rd District Court, also known as the 489th Judicial District Court, in Kaufman County, a significant achievement that will enhance the local judicial system and improve access to justice for county residents. This milestone was made possible through the passage of House Bill 3474, which was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott June 13.
