Running Club hosts Turkey Trot

Mabank Running Club hosts its annual Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning Nov. 28. Twenty-seven racers lined up at the Mabank Pavilion for the event. The next run will be for Mabank Education Foundation at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at the high school.

Police apprehend burglary suspect

GUN BARREL CITY—After the Gun Barrel City Police Department received multiple calls about a white male wearing a hoodie with an emblem on the back breaking into vehicles and taking property in the Arbalado, Willow Wood and Mantle Manors neighborhoods the department announced on social media he has been apprehended. 
Officers announced that, “after reviewing video footage, officers recognized the individual and set out to locate him.” According to the report, Investigator Ruiz made contact with the suspect Nov. 25, and he fled on foot. 

Seven Points City Council talks road grants, taxes

SEVEN POINTS—During the Nov. 14 regular city council meeting, the City of Seven Points discussed the possibility of a Community Development Block Grant. With a deadline of December, the city will have to work quickly but could receive up to $750,000 of assistance towards road repair, and construction.

Police respond to call for shots fired

MABANK—Mabank Police Department responded to a call Nov. 7, in the 500 Block of East Kaufman Street where a resident reported hearing gunshots outside. 
According to a press release, a patrolman who was working in the area located a male running down the street with an apparent injury. The male was detained and given medical attention immediately and identified as Tyrese Ramsey.
It was later determined that Ramsey got into an altercation with an acquaintance, who was later identified as Terrence Boley Jr.
