Richard Loye Martin

Richard “Dick” Loye Martin of Mabank was born Dec. 19, 1924, at his grandparents’ home in Waldron, Ark. and passed away Feb. 13, 2023. 
He graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1942 and enrolled at Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. After his freshman year, he entered the Army in the summer of 1943.

Rodney Eugene Bevill

Body

Rodney Eugene Bevill, 63, was born Oct. 26, 1959 to Joan Eley and Eugene Bevill in Dallas. He passed away at his home March 2, 2023 in Gun Barrel City.  
He graduated from North Mesquite High School and he was also a volunteer Firefighter for the GBC Fire Dept for seven years. He also graduated from the Police Academy and was a Peace Officer in Seven Points and the City of Tool.

Ronald Repp

Body

Ronald Repp, 77, of Tool passed away peacefully Feb. 25, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Blue Island, Ill., to James Repp Sr. and Dorothy Berlin Repp. 
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Patricia Repp.
He is survived by children Jodi, Tim (Angie), Robin (Chris), Scott (Sharisse) and Russel (Patricia), numerous grandchildren, brother James Repp Jr., dear friends Irina Kogan, Roger and Bonnie White and his sweet dogs Rudy and Scruffy.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. March 11, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Tool.

Jack Lewis Bynum

Jack Lewis Bynum, 66, left this earthly home Feb. 18, 2023 from Gun Barrel City. He was born Jan. 28, 1957 in Dallas to Jack Royce and Beatrice Marie Bynum. 
Jack was raised in Dallas, Mesquite and Eustace. He attended and graduated from Control Data Institute. He married Margaret Ann Hollis in 2013 and they had one beautiful daughter together. 
Jack was a Computer Systems Engineer, Mechanic and a Pilot. Jack was also an aerobatic flight instructor, Certified Corvette Specialist and Certified BMW Motorcycle specialist.

Howard L Buck

Body

Howard L Buck, 86, passed away Feb. 15, 2023. Born in 1936 in Littlefield, son of Loyd R Buck and Nealy Sutherland.  
Howard had a lengthy career with the U.S. Postal Service serving in Amarillo, El Paso and as a Railway Mail Clerk, riding trains, sorting mail between towns. He also served as Postmaster of Casper, Wyo., Billings, Mont. and Salt Lake City, Utah, ending as District Manager of the North Texas District in Dallas. Retiring in 1990, he worked four years as a project manager for Lockheed in Arlington before moving to Cedar Creek Lake.

William “Willie” Delano Jaynes

William “Willie” Delano Jaynes, 81, of Mabank passed away Feb. 28, 2023 at his home. He was born Jan. 20, 1942 in Bonham to the late William Foster Jaynes and Johnnie Margaret Fanning.
Willie was raised attending the Church of Christ. He met and married his wife Sharon Dinsmore Jaynes in Dallas.  
While raising their family, Willie worked as a General Superintendent in commercial construction across the southern states and Texas. He retired from Capform Construction in 2013.

Funeral services for Everett Donald Nix,15, of Kemp were held March 4, 2023 at Clearview Bible Church with Bro. James Hall, Bro. Hugh Roberts, Bro. Ken Davis and Bro. Don Griffin officiating.
Everett passed away Feb. 22, 2023 in Dallas.  He was born May 13, 2007 in Kaufman.

Verna Humphrey, 76, passed away Feb. 27, 2023, in Gun Barrel City. She was born April 5, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minn. 
She was the daughter of Hayden and Lorraine Teet. Verna was a 1964 graduate of W.W. Samuell High School in Dallas. 
She was a Cosmetologist by profession and had multiple popular businesses in Dallas before moving to Gun Barrel City.  
She opened Family Hair Salon in 1985, where she was a favorite of many local residents.

Sandra Jean Colby

Body

Sandra Jean Colby, 78, passed away after a long period of health problems Feb. 13, 2023, in Dallas.   
Sandy, as she liked to be called, was born May 19, 1944 and grew up in Akron, Ohio.  She moved to Texas in 1975 and the Kemp area in the early 80s.  
Sandy worked in Sheet Metal Manufacturing in Terrell for many years and she loved her cat Casey Marie very much.  
She was most caring and tender hearted towards everyone she met. She was a beloved sister and aunt.

Taylor W. Golden

Body

Taylor W. Golden passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2023, he was 100 years old. Taylor was born Oct. 6, 1922 in Minturn, Ark. 
He spent most of his childhood in Black Oak, Ark. He graduated from Monette High School in Monette, Ark. and attended Arkansas State University.
Taylor served in the U.S. Army, Company M 153rd Infantry during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. In 1950, he married Martha L. Gilmer of Jonesboro, Ark. They had sons David and Douglas.
