CEDAR CREEK LAKE—Registered voters from around the Cedar Creek Lake area are faced with big decisions leading up to the March 3 primary election, all the way up to United States senator. Early voting starts Tuesday, Feb. 17 and continues through Friday, Feb. 27 (see The Monitor’s Voters Guide).

Bennett elected Tool mayor, Eustace ISD tax nixed

HENDERSON, KAUFMAN and VAN ZANDT COUNTIES—Voters turned out in Tool, Eustace, Mabank, Trinidad and elsewhere around the Cedar Creek Lake area for the Nov. 4 constitutional amendment/joint election to make their choice on state and local propositions, as well as selecting their municipal representatives.

Early voting begins Oct. 21

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Before the Tuesday, Nov. 5 election day, early voting will begin Monday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Nov. 1. The presidential election will consist of Republican candidate Donald J. Trump and running mate JD Vance, Democratic candidate Kamala D. Harris and running mate Tim Walz, Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver and running mate Mike ter Maat and Green Party candidate Jill Stein and running mate Rudolph Ware. 

Elections to be held Nov. 7

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–November is election season for several cities around Cedar Creek Lake, some electing officials while others vote on propositions.
In Gun Barrel City, the long-awaited race for mayor includes candidates Debbie DeLeon and Brian Crull.
In Tool, the race for mayor and two city council seats will be decided. Running unopposed for mayor is Councilman Mike Dumont. On the ballot for council is Councilman Michael Fladmark who is seeking reelection. Vera Bennet and Mayor Tommy Lawhon run for council as write-in candidates.

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The Nov. 8 election which decides area city council and school board trustee positions results are as follows. Results are as of press time at 10:05 p.m.
In the City of Tool election to elect a candidate for one - one year term John Brasfield won with 357 votes against Kathleen Donoghue who earned 307 votes. Three-two-year terms for Tool City Council were decided from four candidates. Candidates Greg Figueroa, Mark Holley and Incumbent Mike Dumont won those seats with 434, 275 and 304 votes respectively. Stephanie Love earned 235 votes.

Early voting kicks off

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Registered voters have until Friday, Nov. 4 to vote early in the Nov. 8 election for city council and school board positions. The City of Tool will conduct an election to elect a candidate for one - one year term of which John Brasfield and Kathleen Donoghue will face off. Tool also has three – two-year terms with four candidates competing for the spots, Greg Figueroa, Incumbent Mike Dumont, Stephanie Love and Mark Holley.
