The Cross Roads varsity girls’ cross country team places first Sept. 2 in the Slocum meet, running with 99 girls.
Coming in first place was Cassie Turner. Callie Turner places third, Brook Locke (10th), Lizeth Lopez (13th), Alanah Logan (25th), Alexis Sudduth (26th) and Gabby Vazquez (47th). The varsity boys’ team running with 79 boys had Gus Bennett place 11th, Payton (44th), Edgar Izaguirre (66th) and Strait Myers (67th). Kylie Loftin takes home 12th place for the JV girls’ team. Lane Supak takes home first place for the JV boys’ team.

MIDLOTHIAN–The Mabank varsity cross country teams are off to a great start this season. The Panthers competed Sept. 1 at the Midlothian Invitational and continued their success.
The boys, who finished second and third in previous meets, brought home the team championship.

The Malakoff Tigers take their season opener over the West Rusk Raiders Aug. 26 at home. The Tigers, behind three touchdowns from Jason Tennyson, were victorious, 28-7 over West Rusk. The win was also the 130th career head coaching win for Malakoff Tigers Athletic Director/Head Coach Jamie Driskell.
