Daniel Elijah Van Huss

Daniel Elijah Van Huss, 37, of Kaufman went to be with the Lord July 21, 2024. 
Daniel was born June 16, 1987, to Don and Christine Van Huss in Corsicana. On Sept. 28, 2013, he married Brandi Van Huss, including time together prior to marrying, they have spent a loving 17 years together. 
Daniel has worked for the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department for 15 years, starting as a jailer to recently being promoted to Sergent 2.

Bill passed away July 8 after a brief hospital stay. He was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Beardstown, Ill., to Clarence Elmer Potter and Dorothy Hannah Broeker Potter.
Bill graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio. He studied at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill.

Melba Jean Burt Steele

Body

Melba Jean Burt Steele was born Oct. 27, 1940 in Texarkana but grew up in Fort Worth. She passed away May 18, 2024. 
She went through LVN training at St. Joseph’s Hospital and went on to receive her RN at Arlington. She worked as a nurse mostly in Dallas for 45 years  including 25 years as an OR Nurse for Dr. Frits Barton.
She and her husband of over 50 years, John,  lived in Tool for 20 years. She attended Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church. 
Melba was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, a brother and sister.

Linda Sue Potts Murner

Linda Sue Potts Murner, 66, passed away June 15, 2024, in Tyler. She was born Jan. 21, 1958, in Atlanta, Ga., to parents Albert James and Annie Sue (Frazier) Potts. 
Linda married the love of her life Larry Dec. 5, 1980, in Union City, Ga. Together they raised their daughter Lisa in a home full of love. 
Linda was a woman who never shied away from voicing her opinions, always standing up for what she believed. Her presence brought a unique vibrancy to every room she entered, making sure her voice was heard and thoughts were known.

Susan Joyce Brown (née Bolt), 70, of Payne Springs went home to be with the Lord June 17, 2024. She was born Feb. 2, 1954, in Montrose, Calif., to the late John Albert Bolt and Madeline Elizabeth Weiseman. 
She worked at Mabank Brookshires for 32 years before retirement. She was a long-time member of Harbor Baptist Church. She truly cherished the Lord, spending time in prayer and enjoyed reading the Bible. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends but will be remembered with her smiles and laughter.

Albert Leroy Robbins, Sr.

Albert Leroy Robbins, Sr., 86, went home to the Lord May 25, 2024. He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo., to George E. Robbins and Pearl E. (Wright) Robbins. 
He moved to Eustace in 2006 from Illinois. Albert married Frieda Ellis March 26, 1956. They were married till her passing in 2005. They had seven children.
Albert was a carpenter and painter. In 1990, he helped build his sister and brother-in-law’s house in Eustace. He loved to play bridge, draw plans for houses and work at the M.A.G.S. Food Pantry.

Hilda Arlene Johnson, 82, of Gun Barrel City passed away June 2, 2024.
Arlene, known affectionately as “Meme,” was a loving and outgoing wife, mother, Meme and friend. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She was hardworking, strong and always ready to experience life to the fullest. Near the end, she encouraged her loved ones to “have fun...have a party.”

Body

Martel Ann Love, beloved wife, mother and devoted community member, passed away peacefully May 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 82 years old.
Born Jan. 23, 1942, in Dallas Martel was the eldest daughter of Martin and Helen Broome. She and her sister Sue Minyard (Jim) grew up in a close-knit family, fostering values of love, kindness, and service that she carried throughout her life.

Wilda Mae Reichert was born Feb. 18, 1940 went to be with her Lord and Savior May 18, 2024. Wilda was born to Eudy Jake Davidson and Mae Ruth Sisco in Dallas. 
Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jerry Davidson and Eudy Davidson and sister Lora Luberg, husband of 60 years Gerald Reichert and Vern Brown, daughter Carolyn Gray and great-grandson Eric Hughes.
